Fall Wedding At St. Mary's Church In Crown Point, Indiana

October 20, 2015 Steve Vansak

Bride and groom hold pumpkins engraved with Thank You.

Krystin and Chachi's Fall wedding featured pumpkins, glowing amber uplighting on the dance floor, leaves, tall trees at Lake County Fairgrounds, a lovely Catholic wedding ceremony, high flying groomsmen on the dance floor and a whole lot of smiling faces from friends, family and the wedding party itself.  Good times, indeed!!  Oh, did I mention pumpkins?!!

Our day started at Krystin and Chachi's home with the bride and her beloved puppy.  The adjective I heard about Krystin all day was the word 'stunning'.

St. Mary's Catholic Church was filled all the way to the back for the ceremony.  The full mass gave me opportunity to get shots from the balcony as well as floor level.  The groom anxiously awaited his bride as Krystin's Dad walked her down the aisle.

After the ceremony we took family photos in the church and then it was off to the Crown Point Square for couple's photos and then Lake County Fairgrounds for some real Fall flavor.

Krystin's list of props included pumpkins, of course, but cute signs, thank you's, her dog Piper and more!!  We had a lot of fun in the woods of Lake County Fairgrounds.

It was now time to get the party started at Villa Cesare in Schererville, Indiana.  The first order of business though was to photograph the spectacular multi tiered wedding cake and all of the October Fall decorations.

Entertaining toasts were met with some great stories and laughter and the dance floor was packed all night.  From young to old, everybody shook their moneymaker!!

Autumn Outdoor Wedding At Centennial Park

October 6, 2015 Steve Vansak

Rain falls upon the bride and groom at the Centennial Park fountain.

Katherine and Justin's outdoor Fall wedding at Centennial Park saw a touch of wind, a little bit of rain, and a slight drop in temperature mixed in with a whole lot of love!!  Sounds like the perfect forecast for an Autumn wedding filled with the tremendous warmth of friends and family.

Our day started at The Color Room in Dyer, Indiana where the girls prepped for the day ahead.  Speeches were planned, mimosas were served with plenty of nervous laughter during the bridesmaid's first look.

Before the wedding we photographed the girls and guys separately and then it was time for our outdoor ceremony on the terrace overlooking the lake at Centennial Park in Munster.

I could see the hearts of parents and family getting tugged as Katherine and Justin were pronounced husband and wife.  Family photos and then it was off around the park with the wedding party.

Katherine's bridesmaids were just terrific as they endured some cold winds as we walked around Centennial Park for photos.  The rain held up enough for us to get couple's shots all around the park.  Then it was time for dinner and huge dance party inside the clubhouse.

So many fun moments from the reception as the dance floor never emptied.  The Fall decor was awesome and a perfect resting place for the couple's ring shot.  Fun, fun, fun...

Wedding At Signature Banquets

September 17, 2015 Steve Vansak

Wedding cake at Signature Banquets in Lowell, Indiana.

Love is sweet indeed!!  Gwen and Keith's wedding at Signature Banquets in Lowell, Indiana had many sweet moments and fun moments and "crush the dance floor" moments as well.  It was the first time I'd seen a Dad as a Best Man and the first ever wedding party hayride that look us through the backroads of Lowell, Indiana.  Let me take you through the day...

The bride and bridesmaids started their day at the couple's home and then made their way to Lowell United Methodist Church to put on their dresses.  From breakfast cheers to detail shots of the Chicago Bears garter and the cute little ones, it was a sweet bunch for sure.

After Gwen got into her dress, it was time for some bridesmaids photos and then a walk down the aisle...

It was raining during the ceremony, but soon the skies would clear for our epic hayride with the wedding party!!

Everyone had a good time being driven by Terry, our tractor driver, as people from town honked and cheered us on.  We hopped off on occasion for photos and I knew I had to get the entire wedding party atop the large flatbed.

Eventually our hayride pulled up to Signature Banquets where it was time for cake, speeches, dinner, music and fun.  I hope you have enjoyed this sneak peek at Gwen and Keith's wedding.  Fall is here!!

Rock and Roll Wedding at the Halls of Saint George

October 21, 2014 Steve Vansak

The groom carries his bride through leaves in Crown Point, Indiana.

Mike and Marcy are a fun couple who love listening and playing music as well as watching football on Sundays while their cat runs around their home.  They told me they were having a band at their wedding reception at the Halls of Saint George and a great one at that, The Crawpuppies whom I know well.  I was excited to capture their day.

We started out at the couple's home in Cedar Lake as Marcy and the girls got their make up done by The Beauty Pros.  Stories were being told and lots of laughs as I took detailed shots of Marcy's garter, shoes and more along with Mike's guitars.  Her mom helped her into her dress as Kurt Cobain looked on from above.

Soon we were off to dodge the rain and cool temperatures at Lemon Lake Park in Crown Point, Indiana for the first look as well as some fun wedding party images and romantic wedding photos of the bride and groom.

Fall colors pop in the background as the bride and groom kiss on the pier.

I let the couple have a few moments on the pier together and took a good number of images to show off the wonderfully saturated Fall color in the background.  We then took wedding party pictures and Marcy and Mike walked all over the park with us taking photos for their wedding book.

The late afternoon wedding ceremony at Halls of Saint George was moved indoors due to cold temperatures and the occasional drizzling rain.  Friends and family whooped it up as the couple were married.  We then scooped them up for a few more images outside the hall before dinner and the party began.

I had a ball covering their rock and roll themed wedding reception, listening to great live music from The Crawpuppies and taking the bridesmaids up for a photo opportunity on the drum kit.  The rings were placed on the Fender Stratocaster to go with the theme of the day.
