Our coverage of Amanda and Jordan’s wedding at White Oak Farm Venue in Michigan City was actually my third day with them.
Jordan had friends and family coming from California and Amanda’s family lives and works and goes to church in Indiana. They decided to have a church ceremony with immediate family on Day 1, an introduction to farm life at the bride’s family’s dairy farm on Day 2, with Day 3 being the ceremony and reception with everyone attending together.
I’ll be showing you their 3rd day here: a big wedding that used the Cedar Barn and the Poplar Barn. In addition to Wendy and me on photos, we had Jaime on hand for wedding video.
As you can see in the images below, we had great fun capturing photos that day. Amanda and Jordan did not have formal wedding parties, more like “wedding teams”. We had them huddle up before the ceremony as though they were about to play a football game.

The “groom’s headquarters” is a small barn with a pool table and porch where the guy’s can get dressed and unwind.

When rain threatened to put a damper on the outdoor ceremony, the plans shifted to the beautiful Poplar Barn at White Oak Farm.
Rather than letting the weather change the mood of the day, the barn provided a warm, intimate setting for the ceremony and gave everyone a chance to settle in and enjoy the moment.
The natural wood and soft light created a beautiful backdrop for photographs and video, proving that sometimes a change of plans can lead to some of the most memorable moments of a wedding day.

I’m sometimes asked, “What happens if it rains on our wedding day?” Well, I will still photograph it and make it great!
For Amanda and Brandon, we utilized some indoor areas and used a clear umbrella. We also used some overhangs at the venue. They embraced it, and we got some unique images and had fun doing so.

The celebration continued in the Cedar Barn, where guests settled in for a fun and relaxed reception. The outdoor deck quickly became a favorite spot for mingling, catching up with friends, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings at White Oak Farm.
Every now and then, a passing shower would send everyone reaching for an umbrella, but it never seemed to slow the party down. Guests simply laughed, gathered together, and headed back outside when the rain passed.
It was one of those wedding days where the weather became part of the story—and nobody let a little rain get in the way of having a great time.
