Sometimes, the weather gods will gift you a perfect day at Indiana Dunes National Park. With temperatures in the 70s and clear skies for a perfect sunset, Matt and Katie’s engagement session was poised to be epic.
We met at Portage Lakefront and River Walk and started taking pictures just before the start of golden hour. The idea was to shoot some beach scenes and end with sunset photos.
A pavilion with a building and restrooms for clothing changes is onsite, making this a perfect location for engagement photos in Northwest Indiana.
Katie and Matt said they were up for a stroll along the sometimes volatile shore of Lake Michigan, so they kicked off their shoes, and we shot a variety of images on the beach.

We walked back toward the clubhouse and chatted a bit while we waited for the golden sun to descend. The sky turned orange and love was in the air making for a perfect ending to a beautiful Indiana Beach engagement session.
