As the sun sets upon the 2024 wedding season, it’s time for my annual Year In Review. As usual, I did photography (and video) for many Northwest Indiana and Chicago area couples.

2023 Year In Review By Northwest Indiana Photographer Region Weddings

As the sun sets on the 2023 wedding season, I’m looking back at all the weddings I photographed (and filmed) this past year. I’ve visited many venues in Northwest Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan, some very familiar and some brand new to me.

Wedding At Dinolfo's Banquets

Carlo and Lina had a “big fat Italian wedding” this summer, which means they did all of the traditions with friends and family, including a church wedding at St. Joseph Church in Dyer, Indiana, as well as a big celebration at Dinolfo’s Banquets in Homer Glen, Illinois.

The wedding reception culminated with La Tarantella, the traditional Italian folk dance. More on that later in this article.

Spring Wedding At Thornton Distilling

Springtime finally came to the suburbs of Chicago for Kayla and Joe’s wedding at Thornton Distilling. The historic distillery has spacious suites for getting ready, and the wedding day started there before the anticipated first look.
