A burst of sun appears over the lake at Taltree Aboretum.

Ashley is a runner and Taltree Arboretum is one of her exercise spots. When she asked if I thought it was a good location for her and Kevin's Fall engagement photos, I did not hesitate to say yes. This is a beautiful location and we certainly took advantage of it.

This scenic destination located in Valparaiso offers up gardens, a lake, wooded areas and beautiful fields.

As you can see from the above images, we can get several different looks in the same location with many different paths to get into the shade or let some sun peak through.

The leaves were golden red and golden orange!! So many different colors on display in this hidden Oasis for the soon to married couple's engagement photos.

We decided to end our session with a photo amid the rolling hills for some wonderful scenic landscape. I'm so glad to have captured our happy couple with that wonderful pastel sky as a backdrop.

Fall Wedding At St. Mary's Church In Crown Point, Indiana

Krystin and Chachi's Fall wedding featured pumpkins, glowing amber uplighting on the dance floor, leaves, tall trees at Lake County Fairgrounds, a lovely Catholic wedding ceremony, high flying groomsmen on the dance floor and a whole lot of smiling faces from friends, family and the wedding party itself. Good times, indeed!! Oh, did I mention pumpkins?!!

Our day started at Krystin and Chachi's home with the bride and her beloved puppy. The adjective I heard about Krystin all day was the word 'stunning'.

St. Mary's Catholic Church was filled all the way to the back for the ceremony. The full mass gave me opportunity to get shots from the balcony as well as floor level. The groom anxiously awaited his bride as Krystin's Dad walked her down the aisle.

After the ceremony we took family photos in the church and then it was off to the Crown Point Square for couple's photos and then Lake County Fairgrounds for some real Fall flavor.

Krystin's list of props included pumpkins, of course, but cute signs, thank you's, her dog Piper and more!! We had a lot of fun in the woods of Lake County Fairgrounds.

It was now time to get the party started at Villa Cesare in Schererville, Indiana. The first order of business though was to photograph the spectacular multi tiered wedding cake and all of the October Fall decorations.

Entertaining toasts were met with some great stories and laughter and the dance floor was packed all night. From young to old, everybody shook their moneymaker!!

Fall Color Engagement Photos

I don't know about you, but as I make my way driving through Northwest Indiana, I keep getting distracted by all of the wonderful Fall color popping up everywhere. We certainly didn't have to look far to find it for Shaina and Joel's engagement session at Lemon Lake County Park.

These two had no problem having fun even with a camera pointing at them. I would call Joel mischievous and I think Shaina loves him for it. One of the looks she gives him below is just classic. I have a feeling their friends have seen this before!! :)

I had fun at their session as well. We captured the Autumn scenes and played with the bright sun shining through the tall trees.

I liked their outfit choices for this Fall session. Shaina's black leather, red shirt and Joel's muted blue worked well against the Autumn color. They later changed into warmer attire as the temperature dropped.

Some of my favorite shots are off the pier with the reflection of the trees in the lake. We had plenty of logs to choose from in the forest area for a cute, 'step up' kissing shot...

We ended our session with a walk underneath beautiful trees with their multi colored leaves and a portrait at what I would guess to be a very old, but spectacular tree on the edge of the lake.

Anniversary Photos On Lake Michigan

Ashley and Cordale decided to return to the scene of the crime for their Anniversary Session. The scene being the shores of Lake Michigan at Marquette Park where we did their engagement session. This time around they had some of the decor from their wedding on display. You can also see some of the wedding photos of the hopelessy in love couple at this link.

Before we set up a picnic area on the deserted beach, we strolled around the Aquatorium and the park area adjacent to it. I wanted to get some natural candid photos of the two lovebirds snuggling and laughing. It didn't take much prompting...

Now, Ashley and Cordale did something I encourage all clients to do. They brought me cookies!! The delicious sugar high has now made their images at least 10% better than before!! :)

I did skip the wine, but the happy couple stayed as the sun set enjoying their picnic to celebrate their one year as husband and wife. It was great to see them again and I'm so proud that they once again chose me to capture their lives together.
