Autumn Engagement Photos in Crown Point

I had a great time with Kelly and Danny during their engagement session in Crown Point, Indiana. The temperatures were chilly, but the tall wooded trees at Lemon Lake Park shielded us. One of our more spontaneous shots was the couple running toward the camera with arms full of leaves to throw them in the air. Their expressions say it all...

We roamed deep into the park taking candid photos as well as Fall portraits by the lake. In one shot a lone leaf fell on Danny's head as he and Kelly kissed. People fishing on the lake congratulated them on their upcoming wedding as I sat them down on a bench for some close ups.

Engagement Photos in Cedar Lake, Indiana

I told Majed and Jennifer to lean back and look at each other during this silhouette photo during their Fall engagement session. Getting to know Majed during the shoot, it's a miracle he didn't let go. He's a guy who likes to laugh and you can tell that Jennifer loves him for it.

I left them alone for a series of shots and it didn't take long for the smiling and laughter to naturally happen. I called a truce on the leaf fight, although I admits I do think Jennifer won that round in a close call.

We took a variety of images in front of the covered bridge with the smiling couple letting the Fall colors into every shot. Temperatures were pretty mild even though we were shooting close to dusk.

This particular week in October saw me doing four engagement sessions in one week!! Autumn colors are extremely popular here Northwest Indiana. Cityscape Engagement Photos In Downtown Chicago

When I met Derrick and Michelle in downtown Chicago, I asked them what flavor they were going for in their engagement photos in the windy city. Michelle wanted "urban, gritty city shots" and Derrick wanted "grand, beautiful cityscapes" featuring the skyline and Lake Michigan. Then they both said "whatever you want honey". We did both. :)

I will be photographing their wedding next October and since Michelle regularly attends events at the Chicago Theater, it was only right to get some images there along with other gritty parts of downtown such as alleys and some hotel hollywood lighting as well.

While I always try to capture romanticism in my engagement photos and cute and fun are always good too, I like to do different as well. As we were walking along the Lake Michigan shore I saw the dramatic sky behind the Adler building and placed the happy couple up on the ledge and let them hang out for awhile. I loved the blue tone reflected in the windows from the sky and the water. I also love their wonderful smiles as well.

Hometown Engagement Photos in Crown Point, Indiana

Beth and Charlie's engagement session had a hometown theme with us featuring the city they live in and will be married in - Crown Point, Indiana. Certainly with Fall colors in the air, a romantic kiss in a pile of leaves was in order. We also spent time in their lovely neighborhood with it's wonderful tall trees and even took some images inside their home.

We then made our way to the Crown Point Square where we used the iconic front steps of the Old Courthouse as well as ducking into a few business in the area for more hometown flavor.
