I have always found June a great month to get married as you have the entire summer to celebrate. It’s also perfect for a lakeside ceremony, and Angela and Erik must have felt the same way.
Our day began with bridal prep at the bride’s parent’s home before moving to the Wicker Park Social Center, where the bride got dressed and had a reveal with her bridesmaids.

When I arrived at The Hair Shaak and make up artist Brittany Hennings was doing the finishing touches, the bridesmaids were already gushing over Francesca’s gorgeous look for her big day. Mom helped place the veil and then we were off to the bride’s parent’s home for dress and details.
Second photographer Michelle was with Zane and his guys where football talk ruled the day and congratulatory drink may or may not have been consumed.

I asked Zane if he was ready and he enthusiastically said yes. And with that, the first look between bride and groom was underway on the back deck of Wicker park Social Center. Fall leaves were strewn about as Francesca made her way toward her groom. After they had their moment we began photos with the wedding party as well as the couple.

All of my weather apps said no rain until nightfall. Sometimes those things don;t quite get it right as we did some rain during the ceremony and family pictures afterwards. However, it didn’t hamper the joy of the moment as Francesca and Zane married and the ring bearer delivered his top secret briefcase.

The reception was a Fall festival in and of itself, complete with a groom’s cake and tons of homemade desserts. Trans Audio brought the music sequined jackets and a good time was had by all. I even snuck out for some night portraits by the gazebo with the bride and groom.

Amy and Steve had been planning their November wedding at St. Thomas More Church in Munster, Indiana for quite some time. The big day finally came and it couldn't have been more perfect. We started out as usual with bridal prep where our flower girl Mia was quite pleased to have been pampered in the beauty chair.
The Munster church really came to life as friends and family poured in to watch Amy walk down the aisle escorted by her Dad.

After family photos at church, we were off to Centennial Park to beat the oncoming nightfall as November sees it get dark very early. We were able to capture some nice orange hues and we stayed into the blue hour to capture the moon reflecting off of the lake. The bridesmaids were able to recreate the Bridesmaids movie poster with Amy and Steve. The bride and groom also got in a quick game of touch football.

The reception was decked out in Fall decor and smores party favors were at every table. Even the flower girl caught the bouquet. I could have given her my business card, but I think I'll have a long time to wait on that wedding!!

Sometimes I go into a wedding and I just know... I can tell right away that the couple is tailor made for each other and that they come from loving families. This was certainly the case with Megan and Garrett. From the groom's love letter that Megan read during getting ready to the bride singing to her new husband on the altar later that afternoon, the proof just kept on coming.
I arrived at Megan's childhood home to a very welcoming group. If there was any doubt I was at the correct house, it was erased by the outside wedding decor and gigantic 'I do' sign. I noticed that the computer was playing a Wedding Playlist of songs. Song #9 on the list would come into play a bit later.

After getting into her wedding dress, Megan descended down the stairs as I'm sure she did many times in her childhood. This time however, she was "going to the chapel" as the song of the same played in the other room.

Before we left for St. Maria Goretti in Dyer, Indiana, we took a few fun bridesmaids photos in the front yard. Second photographer Bridget did the same with the guys at the church.

Now, I've photographed many weddings and I'm "on the job" so to speak so I'm not supposed to get emotional. However, when the bride sings "Grow Old Along With Me", written by John Lennon and does it beautifully at that and on the altar to her groom in front of friends and family... well, you get a lump in your throat. It was a wonderful wedding ceremony at Saint Maria Goretti capped off by the bride and groom exiting with bubbles surrounding them.

Immediately after the ceremony we began family pictures inside the church as well as a few with the newlyweds, including a silhouette in front of the stained glass windows.

The whole gang then took off to the reception site - Wicker Park Social Center. After a quick lunch of Jimmy John's subs, it was outside for photos of the wedding party and the newly married Megan and Garrett.

Sun was bouncing off the lake and the gazebo as we went around Wicker Park taking photos. We had to take a few featuring the wedding sunglasses as well as megan's spectacular train and veil!! Then it was back inside for the party...

The cake topper said Best Day Ever and I believe it was. Garrett was handcuffed, but he still managed to get the garter. The crowd was with the couple the entire way and the dance floor was filled at all times.
