Rodger and Jessica recently had a wonderful summer wedding in Illinois which saw them taking wedding portraits at beautiful Lake Katherine Botanic Gardens in Palos Heights, Illinois.
The couple had a private ceremony in Bridgeview, Illinois, then met up with family and friends (including their beloved dogs) for a quick celebration before I captured their wedding photos in front of the waterfall at Lake Katherine.
They chose to have a micro wedding and have me capture their intimate wedding with close family and friends before dinner.

Tips For Dogs At Weddings
When it comes to including your furry friend in your wedding festivities, it's important to ensure they are comfortable and well-behaved throughout the day. First and foremost, make sure to designate a responsible family member or friend to be in charge of your canine companion. This person can take care of their needs, from bathroom breaks to feeding, and keep a watchful eye on them throughout the celebrations.
It's also crucial to choose a dog-friendly venue (Lake Katherine welcomes dogs and other pets) and inform the venue staff about your pet's presence. Provide a designated area for your pup to rest and relax during the event, complete with fresh water and a comfy bed. Remember to have a plan in case your dog becomes anxious or overwhelmed during the ceremony or reception, such as having a quiet space for them to retreat to.
Lastly, remember your pet's personality and temperament – if they tend to get overexcited or easily stressed, it might be better to opt for professional pet care services on your special day.
Post Ceremony Celebration
Family group photos were also taken at Lake Katherine before a few final portraits of the bride and groom. The entire wedding group then proceeded for some fine dining in the Chicago area to celebrate. It was the perfect ending to a wonderfully intimate wedding.
