Fall Wedding At Signature Banquets In Lowell, Indiana

November 8, 2016 Steve Vansak

The bride and groom share a romantic moment in the old covered bridge at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

Autumn was in full swing for Tara and Scott's November wedding.  Colors were at their fullest and leaves covered the walkways at Lake County Fairgrounds where we went for pictures.  We had a very calm day temperature wise too.  But enough with this weather report, let's get to their big day which started off with bridal prep at Hampton Inn in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Tara hired an on site masseuse for her and her bridesmaids to take advantage of during breaks in hair and make up.  The visiting children were adorable with lots of laughs all around.  Things got real as the girls all gathered around to help Tara into her dress and get the lacing all done.  She looked beautiful and soon we were off to the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point for the first look of the bride and groom.

Scott stood just outside the old covered bridge as Tara walk through it to be received by his open arms as they turned toward each other.  It was a wonderful and heartfelt moment.  They looked positively giddy as they looked at each other.

I photographed Tara and her bridesmaids while second photographer Bridget handled the guys photos.  You can almost hear the crunch of the fall leaves in some of these shots.

Scott and Tara strolled the park as the wedding party made their way toward Signature Banquets and the early evening ceremony there.  I tried to incorporate as much of those wonderful Autumn leaves as I could into our photos.

The ceremony took place inside Signature Banquets in Lowell, Indiana complete with a double sized wagon for the kids and a champagne toast for the adults.

Wedding At Westminster Presbyterian Church In Munster, Indiana

November 7, 2016 Steve Vansak

We had a wonderful day for Tiffany and Shane's Fall wedding at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Munster, Indiana.  We started out in the morning with bridal prep in the loft of the groom's parent's home.  These Chicago Cubs fans had their beloved Cubbies there in spirit and decor and Shane's mom served up apple pie to go along with the mimosa bar.

Shane awaited Tiffany's arrival at the North end of the Centennial Park bridge.  It was a sweet and dramatic moment as she walked along across the long bridge to his awaiting arms.

We went all around Centennial Park taking group shots as well as romantic couples photos.  The guys showed off their socks while the girls revealed their red shoes.

I'm happy to report that no injuries occurred as the wedding party launched into the air while the bride and groom kissed.  Soon we would be off to the church for the ceremony at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Westminster Presbyterian is a wonderful church nestled away on Columbia Avenue in Munster, Indiana.  I loved the architecture there and capturing the wonderful moments that occurred during Tiffany and Shane's ceremony.

I love it when we get some good sized bubbles filling the air as the bride and groom exit the church.

Our final stop of the day was Lighthouse Restaurant in Cedar Lake, Indiana for the reception.  The lighting was "cubbie blue" as the Chicago Cubs World Series game played on the big screen as friends and family celebrated.

Military Wedding At Aberdeen Manor In Valparaiso

October 31, 2016 Steve Vansak

Bride and groom share a kiss outside the Porter County Courthouse in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Andrea and Bart were married 2 years ago at the Porter County Courthouse in Valparaiso, Indiana.  The groom was soon stationed in Colorado by the Army and this past Friday they finally had the chance to bring the party back to Aberdeen Manor and celebrate with friends and family.

Our day started at Salon Diva, also in Valparaiso, where I captured bridal prep, including flower girl Abby's wedding day coloring book.

Our next stop was the beautiful Ogden Gardens which had taken on quite the Fall tone in color.  I photographed the bride and bridesmaids while second photographer Doug was with the groom and his guys at the church.

The Catholic wedding ceremony took place at St. Paul Catholic Church with it's wonderful architecture.  The bride came down the aisle with her Dad to say "I Still Do" with her husband Bart.

Andrea and Bart had a snapshot from their wedding at the Porter County Courthouse from 2 years ago so they wanted to pose with it there.  So off to the downtown Valparaiso Square we went.

The wedding reception at Aberdeen Manor was a celebration of Andrea and Bart's two year old  marriage, but it also a celebration of something else which I will get to in a moment...

At the tail end of toasts, the groom took the microphone and made the surprise announcement that the couple were expecting a baby.....

Autumn Engagement Photos At Lemon Lake

October 26, 2016 Steve Vansak

An engaged couple embraces at the edge of the pier at Lemon Lake County Park.

Emily and Chris spent a late Friday afternoon with me at Lemon Lake County Park for their Fall engagement session.  We battled with the wind for awhile (my light stand and Emily's hair) as we made our way from the deep woods onto the lake.

The Autumn leaves took on a hint of yellow as the soon to be married couple chilled next to the old wooden bridge.

I did my best impersonation of the paparazzi as I spied upon Emily and Chris as they smooched away on the various benches and hidden forest of the park.
