August Wedding At Sand Creek Country Club and St. Michael's Parish

I would describe Brie and Ryan’s wedding day as picturesque, complete with a small town trolley as transportation. The day started at the bride’s parent’s house where hair and make up crew Brook’s Beauties and Make Up by Riem had transformed the kitchen into a salon. The beautiful dress came courtesy of Paris House of Bridal and video of the day by Elegante Media.

One of the items on my list to capture for the day was the bridesmaids decorating Polly the Trolley who would be transporting the wedding party to St. Michael’s Parish and again to Sand Creek Country Club. The groomsmen were already waiting after second photographer Kerrie captured their prep at a nearby hotel.

Soon after the trolley arrived at church, the ceremony began with Dad walking Brie down the aisle and sister Alyce escorting the couple into the sanctuary of St. Michael’s Parish.

We strolled the grounds of Sand Creek Golf Course in Chesterton, Indiana until it was time for the reception to begin. We visited the covered bridge deep inside the course as well as the famed weeping willow tree near the lake.

All this wedding stuff can get exhausting you know, so sometimes a nap for the wedding party is in order. Gotta save up that energy for the dance floor!!

While I finished up bride and groom photos, second photographer Kerrie covered cocktail hour where guests mingled on the deck balcony that overlooks the beautiful course at Sand Creek Country Club. Soon it would be time for introductions, surprise visits, cake cutting and dancing with a soundtrack courtesy of 27 Entertainment. Cake was by Beck’s Crown Bakery in Crown Point.

Summer Wedding at Lighthouse Restaurant

We had quite the sun filled skies for Jackie and Kevin’s summer wedding at Lighthouse Restaurant in Cedar Lake, Indiana. We also had many unique moments with a celebration that day of the bride’s parent’s 50th Wedding Anniversary and also Jackie arriving to her ceremony via boat.

Let’s begin at her parent’s house for bridal prep and an impromptu dance rehearsal from her mom and Dad while Alex Garcia handled make up duties along with Lerin Johnson Bridal Beauty.

John and Kathy have a beautifully landscaped area behind their home where we did some bridesmaids photos along with a portrait of this 50th Anniversary couple.

While I was on my way to the boating dock to capture Jackie’s boarding of the boat that would take across Cedar Lake to the ceremony, second photographer Bridget was taking Kevin and the guys pictures nearby.

Jackie met up with her crew that would take across the lake to Lighthouse Restaurant where Kevin and friends and family would be waiting on the deck. Her walking down the aisle consisted of coming down the long pier and eventually up the stairs where she married Kevin while overlooking the lake.

Wedding At Heston Hills Event Center

It had to be July 14th. “It doesn’t matter where, but it has to be July 14th.” This is what Maggie told me when I met with her and Eric for the first time. They had no venue. However, on July 14th the sun came out in force with a blue sky and puffy clouds over Heston Hills Event Center In Laporte, Indiana.

Our day started early in the morning at her parent’s house in Valparaiso. Soon we would make our way to the The Brewery Lodge in Michigan City where a close group of friends and family would arrive for the celebratory wedding ceremony.

Second photographer Kerrie was capturing groom and groomsmen prep as family filled the ceremony room. The bride’s father officiated the proceedings and peppered the vows with humor that kept the couple on their toes.

After family pictures we took off to Heston Hills Event Center in Laporte, Indiana and strolled the picturesque grounds with it’s lake, boats, metal gazebo and the white picket fence that borders the grounds for romantic and fun wedding photos.

When I asked Eric if he was up for dipping his wife for a picture he responded with an enthusiastic YES!!

Dinner was inside the Heston Hills Event Center where first dances and cake cutting also happened. The room was decorated in books, movies and cameras and cupcakes for the taking. Then it was time for the outdoor wedding reception featuring music, games, a garter and bouquet toss and tons of fun, candid moments to capture.

July Wedding At County Line Orchard

When I arrived at Jay Marie Salon for bridal prep photos and heard all the laughter, I knew were were in for a fun day for Emily and Tyler’s July wedding at County Line Orchard. These two grew up in the same neighborhood. They actually lived across the street from each other. It’s a great story!!

While I captured all of the laughter of the bridesmaids, second photographer Kerrie got to witness the guys’ front yard golf practice!! Emily’s dress is from Marie Gabrielle Couture and the bridesmaids dresses from HCTD. Flowers are from the always impeccable Sugarfield Flowers.

The outdoor summer wedding ceremony took place underneath the big oak tree at County Line Orchard. The lemonade stand was up and running as Emily and her Dad arrived via the tractor limousine.

After family pictures at the ceremony area, I took Emily and Tyler all around the grounds of County Line Orchard for pictures and then we met up with the wedding party at the front of the big red barn. Then it was introductions, dinner and party music courtesy of 27 Entertainment.

I asked Emily and Tyler what kind of apple they wanted and Golden Delicious was the answer!!

Wedding receptions at County Line Orchard usually have the wedding party entering from the outside and it’s impossible to tell what they might have cooked up for introductions. I think our winner may have been the human wheelbarrow with flowers in his mouth.

The room was adorned in literary decorations and the signature CLO donuts were part of the treats. 27 Entertainment definitely blew the roof off of the big red barn as friends and family descended upon the newlyweds while chanting Sweet Caroline.
