Wedding At Duneland Falls

September 14, 2021 Steve Vansak

A candid moment between the bride and groom on their wedding day.

The day was filled with sunshine for Ashley and Julian’s wedding at Duneland Falls in Chesterton, Indiana with an outdoor ceremony at the Centennial Park lakeside terrace.

We started out with bridal prep in the elegant bridal suite of Duneland Falls where Ashley had a reveal with her bridesmaids and her Dad.

The couple’s two doggies were on hand for the ceremony as were many family and friends. As soon as the couple were officially married we did family photos along with the couple and wedding party group images.

Duneland Falls is a very elegant wedding venue in the Chesterton / Portage area of Indiana. After getting detail photos of the couple’s wonderful decor and many candid moments of guests, it was time for the first dances in which I could really show off the elegance of this couple along with the venue.

Summer Wedding At The Pavilion At Sandy Pines

August 31, 2021 Steve Vansak

A romantic moment between the bride and groom on Sandy Pines golf course.

We had sun, we had rain and we even had a rainbow at Cody and Elizabeth’s summer wedding at The Pavilion at Sandy Pines.

We started inside the beautiful bridal suite which is a building onto it’s own with the bride and her squad downstairs and the guys up above.

Our first emotional moment of the day occurred with Elizabeth reading letters from her parents as well as the groom. Then came the first looks with Dad as well as Cody.

After our wonderful reveals, I took the couple all around the Sandy Pines golf course area for photos and then back for wedding party group photos and family group shots.

We certainly had a good time with the wedding party with lots of laughs and booty bumps for all.

We had a rain delay that held up the ceremony for a few minutes but that played into our favor as you will see later.

Clouds hover over the ceremony area after a rainstorm.

I’ve done many Greek weddings and with the bride having some of that heritage in her family it wasn’t a shock to see some circle dances with money being showered upon the newlyweds.

The Pavilion was decorated so elegantly with tall centerpieces overlooking the guests. The desserts were homemade and the cake reflected the groom’s (and latecomer the bride) affinity for fishing.

And then, it happened…. a rare opportunity to photograph the bride and groom with a rainbow overlooking the ceremony area. So out we went onto the damp sidewalk for a slow dance between the newlyweds as the rainbow shined overhead.

Summer Wedding At Gabis Arboretum

August 24, 2021 Steve Vansak

Candid wedding photography at Gabis Arboretum.

I sure had a good time capturing Cristina and Nick’s outdoor summer wedding at Gabis Arboretum in Valparaiso, Indiana. I started at the couple’s house with dancing bridesmaids with their instant cameras and furry ring bearer and vinyl record collection while Lauren covered the guys as they blindfolded the groom before he got on the bus with the bride.

Make up artist Kelly Saulters and hair stylist Top Knot Bridal were on hand to bring out the beauty.

We then had a private first look with pictures of the wedding party and bride and groom before the ceremony.

The first look saw Nick anxiously awaiting Cristina in the nature preserve of Gabis Arboretum. Then we were off around the lake area for photos before beginning the outdoor wedding ceremony.

It’s not often I give the ring bearer his own photo collage here, but the bride and groom’s beloved dog sure is something special and deserving of it.

Beach Wedding At Lighthouse Lodge

August 2, 2021 Steve Vansak

A romantic sunset wedding photo at Lighthouse lodge in Monticello, Indiana.

The last name is Winters, but the wedding was pure summer for Jill and Pro at Lighthouse Lodge in Monticello, Indiana. Located on Shafer Lake, the bed and breakfast wedding venue features lakeside beach weddings and receptions on their large deck underneath a tent.

We started our day with bridal prep inside the bed and breakfast and groomsmen getting ready in one of the cottages of the lake.

The father of the bride wore a commemorative tee shirt for the occasion and he also rocked the dance floor later in the evening.

The first look occurred with an audience of wedding part and family members watching. Boaters on the lake also took notice of the big reveal. Afterwards we did photos lakeside of the bride and groom and wedding party.

The outdoor ceremony faced the lake with the lighthouse towering over the proceedings. Boaters and jet skiers honked their support for the newlyweds as they made their way back down the aisle after the first kiss. Jill raised her bridal bouquet into the air with a celebratory yell.

I had two special shots in mind for the bride and groom and those were a few sunset images as well as a blue hour photo once the light dimmed. A silhouetted version is below along with the blue hour image and a lighted sunset wedding photos is at the top of this post.
