Emily and Josh will be getting married at Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, Michigan later this year. To match the aesthetic of their wedding venue, the couple chose to have their engagement photos taken in downtown Crown Point with the many types of brick and various vine covered walls there.

It didn’t hurt that they regularly would take walks all around the downtown Square and of course partake in the many dining options.

Chicago is open again and it is as wonderful and romantic as ever. I recently spent a lovely late afternoon with Melissa and Mike exploring various parts of the city and taking pictures to celebrate their love and togetherness.

Apparently, the Chicago Theater knew we were coming…..

We actually started our day in the Loop at the Chicago Board of Trade building and eventually made our way up north to the nature boardwalk and ending this Chicago engagement session with photos at sunset on North Avenue Beach.

Spring Engagement Photos At Whiting Lakefront Park

The happy couple chills on the edge of Lake Michigan for their engagement photos.

You’ve probably heard the phrase “cooler by the lake” and that certainly was the case for Lydia and DJ’s engagement session at Whiting Lakefront Park. Cool as in temperature when I stepped out of my vehicle in my shorts and cool as in how awesome these guys did for their session.

DJ had the great idea of incorporating W from his last name into some images and Lydia wasn’t about to ditch her great outfits for a chilly breeze coming off of Lake Michigan.

Whiting Lakefront Park is a great spot in Northwest Indiana for romantic engagement photos as it offers not only the views of Lake Michigan, but also the greenery of the park, pretty flower beds as well as landmarks like a gazebo and a small waterfall, etc.

Whihala Beach is also right there for a more traditional beach photo shoot. And don’t forget to take a dip on the pier.

I often can get great sunsets at Whiting Lakefront Park, but cloud cover took that option away from us on this day. However, a romantic twilight photo underneath the gazebo was a perfect way to end the session.
