Tabor Hill Winery is a beautiful wedding venue nestled within the Southwest Michigan city of Buchanan. These engagement photos of Amanda and Chris were taken in the Fall months on a sunny late afternoon.

We definitely wanted to take some classic shots within the grape orchards but the property also has some wonderful trees with lots of leaves scattered beneath them and of course wine barrels for props along with a vintage truck.

Although I am based out of Northwest Indiana, I photograph weddings and engagement sessions in Southwest Michigan as well. So I was thrilled to go out to Tabor Hill Winery for a late afternoon of photos. The sun was truly bright but this really brought out the glow of the yellow leaves.

Downtown Chicago Engagement Session

I had a lovely time with Molly and Ahsan in downtown Chicago for their engagement session. We met up in front of the iconic Chicago Theater and used the theater marquee for a background as well as nearby alleyways for an urban look.

We had one more, must have stop for Ahsan and Molly and that was the home of the Chicago Bears - Soldier Field. The couple owned the stadium dressed in their Khalil Mack jerseys (well, except for when security kicked us out of a restricted area) for their engagement photos in front of the stadium.

Engagement Session At Gabis Arboretum Nature Preserve

We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to sneak in Kaley and Adam’s engagement session with the threat of rain coming in. We surely did and had fun doing so. As we left the beautiful grounds of Gabis Arboretum, the rain came trickling down.

Gabis Arboretum always has some fantastic and unique flowers growing as well wooded nature paths that I could have these two take a simple stroll and just be themselves.

I love the small bridge that overlooks the lake and it was the perfect backdrop as Kaley pulled in Adam for a sweet kiss.

These two had not seen each other all day so I asked them to have a seat and talk about their day for awhile.

And did I mention there’s lots of purple in bloom right now!

Winter Engagement Photos At Gabis Arboretum

A romantic stroll through the woods of Gabis Arboretum.

Noel and Kennith bundles up in their winter clothes for a chilly, but fun engagement session at Gabis Arboretum in Valparaiso, Indiana. I had them taking romantic strolls though the woods as well as cuddling up on the edge of the frozen lake.

While I certainly do “staged” photos, I also try to make those appear natural. I also tend to have my clients take a break during the session and sit down and talk for bit. This makes for some nice candid moments to capture.

Noel said she really wanted a wide shot showing off nature (and her and Kennith too) and we most certainly did some of those as well as focusing on her ring.
