It had been a long time coming! Sarah and Brent have been my wedding client for 3 years now as they planned their winter wedding at Center For Visual & Performing Arts only to have the health crisis of 2020 delay them to this year.

The day finally came where they could celebrate with friends and family and they did so in a big way!!

Our day started with bridal prep inside the bridal suite at the Arts Center and the groomsmen getting ready for the day at home.

Soon it was time for our mid-afternoon first look on the patio of the Center For Visual & Performing Arts. Although it was a bit chilly, Sarah loved the patio area with the brick flooring and greenery. They had fun as they came together for the first time on wedding day.

We took some romantic wedding photos outside before moving inside for photos on the staircase and then back out again for some fun shenanigans with the entire wedding party.

At my winter weddings I always try to be aware that my subjects are going to be cold so we need to do things quickly and find ways to keep them warm. These bridesmaids were lucky recipients of groomsmen jackets and unfortunately the guys got stuck with bouquets of flowers. As always, having fun trounces cold temperatures!!

The wedding ceremony took place on the ballroom floor. The newlyweds broke bread and drank wine as well as they literally tied the knock. Soon the first kiss was underway and then it was family group photos straight into cocktail hour.

The wedding reception had some terrific speeches - funny, emotional and celebratory. The first dances were lovely moments and the dancing was simply off the hook. Our groom was hoisted into the air several times and I don’t think our bride left the floor much at all. Good times…

Wedding At Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa

Karley and Anthony had a wonderful pre-Spring wedding at Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, Indiana. This ballroom wedding ceremony featured a romantic candle lit scene with friends and family.

We also jetted down the road to Friendship Botanic Gardens for romantic bride and groom photos with our day starting in the bridal suite of the luxury Michiana hotel.

Karley and Anthony had a reading of their vows without seeing each other just before their candle lit ballroom wedding ceremony.

After they were pronounced husband and wife, we took off for Friendship Botanic Gardens for romantic wedding photos in nature.

The reception ballroom at Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa for Karley and Anthony’s March wedding was very elegant with the happy couple having a ball while cutting their cake from Designer Desserts and dancing with friends. I loved the floor to ceiling sparkling pillars and used them quite a bit for effect while shooting dancing and speeches.

September Wedding At Uptown Social

Colleen and Michael held their September wedding in several locations culminating in an extended photo shoot and reception at the very elegant Uptown Social in Michigan City, Indiana.

Our day started out at CJ Warren Salon and Spa in Crown Point, Indiana before moving to the St. Matthias Parish Bridal Suite for bridal prep as well as groom prep. All floral is by La Petite Fleuriste.

During this getting ready period Colleen and Michael also did a gift exchange as well as separate portraits inside the church just before the ceremony began. We also snuck a first look with Dad.

The wedding ceremony saw the couple exchange vows while friends and family looked on. Afterwards we took family photos and wedding party and then we were off to Michigan City for the big party.

Colleen and Michael made both the ballroom and cocktail area their own with unique decor including drawings from caricature artist Nate as well as their very own drink commemorating the year 2020.

27 Entertainment played the soundtrack for the evening and 99.9% of guests were into the vibe except for the flower girl. I think it may have been pajama time for her! :)

Franklin Street in Michigan City is lit up wonderfully in the evening so we slipped out into the street for some night time wedding photos showing off the explosion of light and love on the big day.

September Wedding At Aberdeen Manor

Kristen and Zach had a very picturesque and elegant September wedding at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana. The morning began with the Sta-Glam crew bringing out the beauty. Our flower girl drew some artwork and the bridesmaid dress reveal was full of excitement.

Kristen and Zach both wrote letters for each other to read. i covered this and the girls while photographer Grant photographed the groomsmen prep.

Before the ceremony photos were taken of Kristen and Zach and then it was off to the Aberdeen Chapel to make it official with Reverend Doug presiding.

We strolled around the neighborhood of Aberdeen for some beautiful and candid images of the bride and groom. Kristen had such a lovely and long veil that it was begging to fly in the air while she kissed her husband of a few hours.

The wedding reception was simply a PARTY and there no other way to describe it. From the introductions onward it was high energy with a soundtrack provided by Mike of Trans Audio DJ of Crown Point. It even started to snow on the dance floor!! :)
