Wedding At St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church

Anna and Marko had a spirited Serbian-American wedding at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Lansing, Illinois, with a reception at Chetnik Memorial Hall this past weekend.

Bridal prep started at the couple’s home, with groom prep at his parent’s place, where I took still images and video clips for the couple’s upcoming Short Film.

Groom Prep

Marko’s parents’ house was like a mini-reception with food, drinks, music, and many family members. He read a note from his bride and opened a gift of cufflinks commemorating a lost friend.

Ceremony

The church was filled with family and guests as Anna came down the aisle with her Father. The church has incredible ceiling architecture, and I wanted to capture that along with the traditions happening within the ceremony.

After a bubble exit, we went back inside for family group photos, the wedding party, and the newlyweds. St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church has a lovely courtyard for outdoor images, which we took advantage of.

Reception

The reception had deserts aplenty, and the dance floor was alive as the DJ washed the room with colored lights. Children of all ages ruled the dance floor.

The parent dances were very emotional and featured a surprise dance between mom and daughter.
