Bridal Prep

Hometown love was displayed at the elegant Northwest Indiana wedding venue, The Grand, for Kathryn and Tyler’s big day. Located in the heart of downtown Crown Point, Indiana Square, the historic building served as a getting-ready location and a ceremony and reception.

My day started in the third-floor suites for wedding day prep and moved on toward two private first looks with the bride and Dad and then with the groom.

First Looks and Vow Reading

Emotions were high as Kathryn’s Dad saw her for the first time on her wedding day. Tears were flowing soon after for the first look and vow reading with Tyler on the third floor of the historic Crown Point courthouse.

Portraits

Before guests arrived for the later afternoon ceremony, we moved around the building and outside, capturing images, a melding of modern and vintage, of candid wedding photos and planned elegance.

Ceremony

The vintage courtroom is just a cool location for a wedding ceremony. It’s elevated seating ensures that everyone can witness the exchange of rings and venerable first kiss.

When you exit, don’t forget your new tradition of first selfies. Kathryn and Taylor chose an instant Fuji film camera for theirs.

Reception

The Maki ballroom on the 2nd floor of The Grand saw Amplified Events providing the soundtrack for the celebration. The speeches were spirited, and the food by Provecho Latin Provisions was delicious.
