Greek American Wedding At Avalon Manor

Weddings are always a celebration with family and friends, but when a traditional Greek wedding comes along, I know it will be about FAMILY in a big way. It also means lots of moments and traditions to capture throughout the day. I’m always up for that!

In addition to wedding photography, Daphne and Nick also got a Short Film with their wedding package to remember their day in video and still images.

Our day began with me covering bridal prep at Daphne’s parents’ home and the second photographer, Wendy, covering groom prep.

The ceremony occurred at St George Hellenic Greek Church, and we captured many candid moments as guests arrived and even during the ceremony.

Daphne and Nick were elated as they exited the cherished church in Schererville, Indiana, surrounded by celebratory bubbles and family and friends.

Dahphne and Nick were married during the time of year when it gets dark early, so we had to move quickly to a local Schererville park for some outdoor wedding portraits of the newlyweds and their wedding party. It worked out perfectly, though, as we had some incredible golden hour tones for backgrounds.

I often discuss the need for a wedding photographer to be efficient. This was an especially true instance. Within 15 minutes, the sun had set, and we were on our way to Avalon Manor for the reception.

Of course, my second photographer, Wendy, was already there capturing cocktail hour and all the decorations.

At the beginning of this post, I mentioned that the couple got a Short Film with their package. You can have a look at it below. I now offer video in the style below and a dedicated videographer who does Feature Films. Learn about the differences at this link.

As you view the reception photos below from Avalon Manor, you may think that I have some dancing photos out of order, as they appear before the cake cutting.

Well, nothing is out of order. The introductions just happened to be off the charts, and the entire room engulfed the dance floor as the couple entered. The energy in the room was fire.
