Bride and groom walk in front of the Old Crown Point Courthouse decorated for Christmas.
Kristi and Harry's wedding was not technically a Christmas wedding, but it sure felt like it as I took photographs around the downtown Crown Point square. The large trees were decorated with Christmas lights for the holidays and friends and family were full of good cheer. Heck, St. Elijah Serbian American Hall was serving stuffing and mashed potatoes during the reception dinner.
Our day started out at Kristi's parent's home in the Ellendale Farms neighborhood. Her bridesmaids were a fun bunch and I got to learn all of their childhood secrets as they got their hair done. The weather outside was a bit dreary, but spirits inside were high. I took detail shots of the fun sunglasses to be worn during introductions later that night along with the wonderful dress and some fun candids of the girls.
Flower girl Maddy was beyond adorable and seemed to love the camera even though I understand she's quite shy. Kristi's mom and Dad were very welcoming and I was glad to get a shot of mom and daughter as the bride got ready on her wedding day at her parent's home.
I was very appreciative of Kristi braving the wet weather to get some shots of her in front of the iconic neighborhood gazebo in Ellendale Farms before we went to the St. Elijah Serbian American Hall for the ceremony and more photos.
The ceremony took place inside the hall with friends and family looking on. Kristi and Harry may have had a few nerves going in, but all seemed to be gone as they laughed during the vows and had a nice smooch while exiting the ceremony.
Great fun was had by all at the reception. Let's see, the Chicken Dance was a massive hit, the groom took a solo spot on the dance floor, the first dance was all grinning and kissing, love was in the air among the guest, the decor was super cute, dinner was delicious with dessert to match and the drinks and good times flowed. Yes, the party was a success!! :)
